Gerry Kruger's second book, TWO OF US: A Father-Daughter Memoir, is based on visits and conversations with her father, Robert Warwick Daniel. It was his dedication to making life better for others that inspired her to write it. He read and critiqued each chapter before he died on February 18, 2018, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia with Gerry at his side. He was 98.
She writes: "I never realized how remarkable my dad was until after my husband Fred died in 2002. Following my husband's death, my parents took me to a North Carolina beach cottage for a week. My father and I walked along the beach every morning. That was the first time my father told me about his experiences as a business agent upon leader at the plant where he worked. After that, I realized how deeply he felt about the importance of respect for all humanity and for all to be treated fairly in life as well as in work. He never ignored the plight of others and never sought recognition for what he did for them.
